Explained: What is Labour's Brexit policy?

It's popular to call Labour's Brexit policy complicated, but is it?

Jeremy Corbyn used his second keynote speech of 2019's general election campaign, today in Leave-voting Harlow, to focus on the issue.

Since 1983, whoever has won Harlow has won a general election. A key seat, but do voters in the constituency buy the Labour party's support for a second referendum, or Corbyn's accusations about Boris Johnson selling out the NHS in a trade deal with Donald Trump?

Parliament should pass a bill which makes it law that the uk must leave the EU on February 30th.

Nice you interviewed three gammons on the street, as if that is representative of Harlow as a whole

I don't think interviewing greying boomers is going to give you a balanced view mate

I'd really have liked an interview with a Labour-supporting Boomer. I'm one myself and I'm a bit sick of rhe implication that we're all "gammon". This isn't a generational fight, its a fight about social justice. We need to stand TOGETHER at all times. Solidarity, folks.

It's very complicated because the EU will never ever offer any nation wanting to leave the block anything that could be considered a 'deal' without making sure the so called deal contains clauses and terms that make it impossible for the nation wanting to leave to be competitive in the global market because they are not stupid. The only way to leave and get a good trade deal that doesn't carry ridiculous terms with it would be to leave without a deal and negotiate a trade deal once they actually believe we are serious about leaving without a deal. It's simple negotiating and business 101. Do these people not have a clue how the world works? leaving without a deal isn't scary, it isn't 'crashing out' or falling off a 'cliff edge'. Everything pretty much carries on as normal and it wouldn't be more than a couple of weeks before the EU wanted to get a deal sorted ASAP because regardless of what they say it would undoubtedly hurt them more than it could ever hurt us. If you dont believe that I would assert that you have been misled in some way or you don't have any belief in this country as an independent nation at all. We don't need to be shackled to a failing project in perpetual decline when our own economy Is actually doing rather well to have any clout on the world stage, It's just not the case. Stick to making funny songs you are better at that you can get the propaganda across without as many people noticing, I like them myself even though I completely disagree with most if the content.

The tories haven’t failed on brexit, labour have been voting Boris’ deal down. I’d never vote labour under Corbyn, Diane Abbott as Home Secretary? No thanks.( and I wouldn’t ever vote conservative either.)

Their policy is moronic. End of story.
It's pitifully unrealistic to think they can get any reasonable Brexit deal when the EU knows Labour's MPs all want to remain.
Of course, Labour aren't actually going to try to get one anyway so it's irrelevant. There will be no "credible leave option" 😂

‘Tories failed Brexit’ No, your cynical and petty MPs have voted down what is likely the best deal they’ll get, simply for spite of the Government.

Only reason the Tories failed to deliver Brexit is cause of them slamming it down

If there is another referendum remain shouldn't even be an option as the people have already voted to leave now it should only be about how we leave, with the deal or a no deal! What is to stop them agreeing a shit deal to force the people to vote against that deal with only one option left the one they want

Put it to the public what a joke. Labour are so into letting the people vote the add one more question (3) leave with no deal

Where's the 'no deal' option then? I don't like the EU and I voted to leave it in 2016. I didn't vote to stay in on shit terms which is the Labour position. Does anybody truly think the EU will give us a fantastic deal? It's almost as though there's an ulterior motive. The long term stategy is to sweep the past 3 years under the carpet and keep us fully in.
