Greetings from Northern California. Are you using Schedule 40 PVC pipe ? Inspired by your video, I'm building version of what you did with 3/4" fittings and Schedule 80 pipe since that's what I've got in my garage. The boxes and systems on my family property are all 3/4" pipe. The old timers built boxes out of Redwood with fine copper screen on the bottom to let the water in to rise to a piece of "3/4" galvanized iron pipe that poked into the box and then out to a tank or galvanized washtub.
