Bryce Harper has received more unwarranted hate than anyone in baseball.... People love to hate Bryce Harper but is that why he's become so good?

Baseball is the only sport where people get mad at you for trying too hard.

Bryce Harper: "Breathes"

Umpires: Throws him out

The signed pine tar bat to Ozzie is about the funniest baseball shit I've heard in a while. The whole incident sounded pretty on brand for both of them.

I love how the spectators say “show some class” after immediately calling him overrated. Makes sense 😂

So let me get this straight… looking at a home run too long is deemed unprofessional by the same people who vote on the most overrated player in the league?

Anyone who has been treated the way Harper has since they were a teenager would become just like him.

I love Bryce. He's unapologetically himself, hustles, and loves to compete.

I didn’t know much about Bryce Harper, but this gave me a lot of newfound respect for him. Thank you for that

Considering the amount of pressure that was placed on him at such a young age, I honestly think he's really grown as a person. Most of his antics that made some question his character were on the field-type of things. Being a Phillies fan, I think he really brings a level of competitiveness that the fans love, which is why he's a fan favorite here.

I definitely like a class act over a hothead (mike trout vs Harper) but honestly the passion and work ethic Harper plays with most of the time is respectable and I honestly like it. He's been getting hate since forever and it's pretty hard to not be a 'villain'. He's definitely not over rated by any means

Harper has become more mature and a true leader over the past 2 seasons. He deserves all the credit for being one of the reasons getting Phils into the World Series. I’m so excited to see what he can do for our city next season.

Honestly, I have a hard time getting mad at a professional player for being 'overly' competitive or getting heated over bad calls. This is essentially been their entire life, so its understandable to get mad about something you care about a lot. If anything, it bothers me a bit when players have no reaction at all, almost like they are just there for the paycheck and don't care about the outcome.

And honestly, being cocky, while not an amazing character trait, is pretty entertaining to watch as a fan. A league without 'vilains' and drama wouldn't be as fun imo.

Just shows you how many overinflated fragile egos are present in the game of baseball.
Massive respect for him staying strong against literally the entire industry

Would love to see a part 2 of this now that Harp has become a literal walking legend in Philly. Hopefully the can finally get a ring this year to really round out his story

This just makes me a fan of him. Props to him for getting them to the World Series and taking 2 games off of the far superior Astros.

And now he hit the game winning home run in the NLCS and we're in the world series! Congratulations Bryce!
