The original Fable was the first RPG I played. I remember selling everything in my inventory for this hammer I really wanted. Didn't realize at the time that I sold the clothes I was wearing too, I got the hammer but spent the better have of that game in the nude lol.

I prefer the OG. Love Fable, brings me such comfort and nostalgia to see it again after all these years

It's really impressive how good the artstyle is on the original, to the point that it looks better than the supposed improved version.

Also, original feels like an eternal autumn, while the new one looks like summer, which took away of that whinsical feeling of an never ending Fall season.

OG Fable has soul, and yeah, richer colors. Didn't really need a reskin

I mean, the Anniversary's landscape is such and eyecandy, it has developped a lot. But I've got to admit, I prefer the TLC version. I just love the pure confusion on the hero's face in every single cutscene xD

OMG Fable Anniversary is almost 10 years old!? I feel old

Thing about Fable TLC is that it can run DRM free on Windows XP. For me that is a massive plus. But honestly I have to wonder why Fable II still hasn't had a PC release; that is the best of the series by far.

I think the water comparison at 7:48 really shows why fable TLC is my preference. The graphics may be a bit cartoony but theyre believable in the world and they really did ALOT with a little. The shadows make a big difference in feel while playing too. Anniversary falls into the uncanny valley where the mouths dont fit the words quite right and the character remodels are creepy, the shadows make you want the ability to turn them off entirely. Anniversary is uninspired and they focused on the wrong things IMO. I may be a minority and a bit biased but i truly believe the original way Fable was released (on OG Xbox, controller in hand, WITHOUT TLC content) is the best Fable experience in the entire franchise. like honestly less is more with Fable i really could do without the northern continent dlc and extra jack of blades dragon fight. where it ends originally for me just felt right.

i cant be the only one right?

I just downloaded Lost Chapters again because I don't know where my disc went. I think I'm gonna play that version again instead. The character models look nicer in the remake but it definitely seems it lost some of it's original appeal. I feel like the bright whimsical colors is what made the OG. I grew up with this game on Xbox. I spent so much time on it. I loved the story, the unique weapons, the magic, the music. I haven't found another game like it.

I love this game but it drives me crazy how they ruined the character models. The environment looks great but the character model's faces have all been beaten with the ugly stick. I will never be able to get over it

Fable II is the game I never played and always wanted to and the point at which my childhood took an abrupt end. Haven't really played games afterwards even though I kept track over the years and now have a humongous list of video games that I never get to playing, feeling as if a game is too old and want to get to the newer ones, or that a game is too new and that I should start a little bit earlier. Actually the same can be said about Oblivion, but this one, Fable II, I really, really, really wanted to play.

If Anniversary had a more warmer lighting and the faces wouldnt be so cursed it could have gone way better imo

I remember playing Fable with my friend and we played those betting games in Fable and found a money glitch. Suddenly we had infinite money to spend on fable, good times.

This somehow made me feel like I really want to play the OG Fable, and rate it against the play through I did last month on the Anniversary Edition

it's not really nostalgia, for you see, the original version of fable had better lighting better coloring better spacing and they did not prioritize minimalism, the anniversary one everything is darker hard to see they have the wrong color palette, really bad lighting, it's just Generally Uglier, they made the demon doors absolutely 🤮 to look at, they sound basically the Same, is the mass of color swap and they also change a lot of models up and they, They look like they Put Through A Blender, 🤦🏻‍♂️ . . . . .

the character models look I don't know why I thought you're trying to mix realism with cartoons it doesn't work out ?

and before someone says it's nostalgia, i never played fable . . .

I'm generally able to look at both copies, how to say the original one has better lighting better color the models are definitely look aged they can really you can really see how old they are outdated they are, but at the same time they generally look more flushed out, in the models look more natural and pronounced, Yes, I know it's still Animation.

but the part in the video when he gets to the lighting and shows The Grandmaster that definitely was absolutely improved !

a lot of plants that look yeah the vegetation looks generally uglier, they have bad color palette they made them unnecessarily darker they made a lot that they made a lot of game just unnecessarily darker they made the house of darker the stone darker the plant darker the ground darker the sky darker ?

the downgraded a spells, the part of the video that went to lightning comparison the first lightning sounds like lightning and looks more like lightning the next version it doesn't look like lightning looks like a janky version of light, and it doesn't sound like lightning it sounds like a Taser

the first version of lightning sounds like an explosion of thunder everywhere the second version sounds like someone going crazy with a taser !

when it comes to the hero ceremony I'm not sure I think they improved it they definitely made it look nicer but some way somehow they turned the room into a church ?

so there's more darkness in the game ?

I will say in many parts they get improve the grass it went from yellow and dead looking everywhere to being green and more lush so they get it somewhat improved the grass and throughout the Game . . .

making it less depressing to look at

some way somehow they made the water look ugly ?
🤷🏻‍♂️
How In The Fyk, Do u Ulgy-lify

Water . . .

the fireball version it started off giving this weird singing then the next version it actually sounds like fire I prefer the singing version it sounds more cool and dramatic

👍🏻

I feel like the ambient of the original versions seems more open and vast. Whereas the new one feels more tight and the space feels reduced in terms of distances and such. I don't know if snyone feels the same

The biggest thing offputting to me in Anneversary is no pre-screen picture for items or powers. No bundle of items for inventory or poses for strength, skill, and will powers. Also, no picture of the area map for me to find weird faces or poses in when loading into a new area

I like the original one better whoever worked on remastering it sucked. There's a difference between remastering the graohics to completely changing the characters and content.
