NZXT H1 V2 REVIEW: Bigger, Better, Fixed?

Side by side comparison and cooling analysis of the new NZXT H1 Version 2 compared to the original H1.

It's bigger, can house larger GPUs, has a PCI-E 4.0 riser, more fans, more powerful PSU, bigger vents and even a software fan controller, but is it worth the price tag?

Excellent review!

I have the H1 V1 with the revised riser, custom metal grille with larger holes and its paired with an undervolted Asus TUF 3070 OC. Also replaced the AIO fan with a Noctua and turned down the AIO pump speed. I love my H1 V1 and it runs very cool and quiet.

I like the new changes with V2 particularly the extra space for GPU’s as the Asus TUF 3070/3080 are the largest GPUs you could fit with the V1.

750W PSU, PCIe 4 riser, exhaust fan, extra USB A port and removable SSD caddy are very welcome changes.

However I am disappointed that NZXT did not listen to their customers and retained that useless front glass. Yes it looks nice for contrast but you have nothing to show off even if you add a LED strip. Thermals are way better with a custom vented grille.

My boys have MSI Gaming X 1660 Super GPUs installed in their H1 V1s and they are hot boxes with that tempered glass. Fans are always ramped up as well.

I think they should have also included a vented front grille like the NR200P or have it as an optional purchase.

I will only upgrade to the V2 when I upgrade my GPU which wont be any time soon.

I thought this was gonna be the Phanteks launch! lol! I do love the H1 and glad to see they've fixed a lot of the issues. Not a massive upgrade but maybe what the original should have been. Kudos to NZXT for doing it to be honest

I have the first version of the H1 and love it. I do have custom front and back plates as well as a custom PCI-e 4.0 riser cable. I'm running a Ryzen 7 5800x and the RTX 3070 Ti FE. Heat was a major issue before I got the custom panels. I had hoped that the panels would fit on the new H1 but the size difference kills that idea. Since I've solved the riser cable issue and heat issues by adding custom panels, the only thing I would like is the 750w power supply. I'm not sure if that's enough incentive for me to swap over to version 2. I would of course still need to get custom panels and tempered glass on such a compact case makes zero sense.

I originally wanted the h1 but the whole explodey situation drove me to the revolt. Maybe I'll get the h1v3 for my next case in a few years

Is the ssd cage easily removable? I'm thinking of using a 3080ti fe vga.
