The Real ROOT CAUSE of Chronic Back Pain (pt.5) - Spine Inflammation (Peripheral Sensitization)

✅ Watch the MASTERCLASS on Low Back Pain & Sciatica.
.
If you have chronic low back pain or sciatica, it's easy to think that the pain is all coming from tissue damage like a disc bulge, a disc herniation, disc degeneration, tight muscles, or a pinched nerve.
.
Research shows that in most cases of chronic pain, a large portion of the pain is NOT from damage, but rather from inflammation and hypersensitization of the nerves in the muscles, joints, and disc, through a process called peripheral sensitization.
.
Peripheral sensitization can make chronic low back pain and sciatica much worse by creating hypersensitivity to normal, non-damaging activities or movements. This is crucial in understanding the difference between safe pain and unsafe pain during chronic low back pain and sciatica rehab.

Thank you for sharing this information in a concise, direct manner. I look forward to watching the next 3 parts, especially the 8th 'how do we fix this' episode! Cheers from Australia

Another great video, really appreciating the education in this series to understand the holistic aspects of pain.

I just wanted your thoughts on something - my father in law just got into a car accident, and now while we're all thankful he's alright, he did suffer a shoulder dislocation and an ankle sprain.

I know from watching your videos that surgery is likely not the answer for his dislocation, but I was wondering if there was a good video on the subject I could share with him, as well as good resources/suggestions for him to rehab his shoulder to the point of full recovery.

Yes I was diagnosed with two disc herniations and two bulging discs then just 2 weeks after something triggered it so what was supposed to be a temporary injury became chronic I know it takes time for the discs to heal but I really believe this may be the brain and nervous system issue and not so much of a disc issue

Very helpful explanaiton! Does the hypersensitivity also has an impact on numbness and muscle weakness along the nerves (into the legs)? Or are these Symptoms always caused by severe (real) nerve damage?

Yes, I think my body has some HyperSensitivity in the Low Back Aera as it has MicroHernia sinces 2 Decades after a Excessive Weight Pulling Experience at Work, and apparently a Muscular HyperContraction Tendency on the Back Part of the Disks.

Stretching, especially in QiGong Mouvments Helps but I can't stand my Body Straight Too Long without at least a Foot on something High Enough, or even letting my Body on its Back on a Bed, if not the Knees Plied Towards the Chest.

The Funnny things is I know how to Releave the Muscular Contraction For Good on an Other Body, but I don't have hands at the back of my Body to do it on it 😅, nor Someone Around I could Teach how to do so 😔

Could pain caused by muscle tension be nociplastic?

Background: A few years ago i did squats with bad form and my pelvis twisted. I ended up having sciatica pain for a couple of weeks. It transitioned into more of a muscle pain and finally exploded into muscle tension from my back, hips, down my leg, into my foot! After steroids it worsened so badly. With time, my pelvis is much more neutral now but i still have painful muscle tension that makes exercising painful. 😭

Why not talk about solutions -- remember people are in pain and need solutions asap
