What is a Sigma Male?

A Sigma Male is a man who chooses to live his life outside of the normal social dominance hierarchy of society. Sigma males have similar traits to alpha males but prefer to walk to the beat of their own drum, and don’t often take orders from people or conform to society’s labels or systems.
Sigma Males are often the ones who step outside their comfort zones, create amazing things, start businesses, are quiet and confident partners, and hard workers.
Their role, whether they realize it or not, is to pave the way for many others, including Alpha Males who aren’t as creative or as willing to buck the trend to allow society to progress.

I'm a SIGMA and gay male. The dynamics thus commonly found on these general explanations don't hold true. However, I have many women friends, very intelligent and very good looking usually very successful and often wealthy. They find they can 'relate' on many levels without any "sexual" come-ons. Also, I find even "straight" males tend to befriend me for the fact they want to be able to talk freely about their personal lives (nothing more) and SIGMA to SIGMA the conversation is gratifying as it's on a mutual level.

Now I have a proper label for myself. In the army, it's been both a blessing and a curse. It's true, we don't try to change people like alphas. I love having the troubled soldiers, the pia's. I don't try to change them, I learn how to work with their strength. No domination required, and we kick ass. And with women.... it is also bittersweet. Some women are obsessed, others can't stand us. No in between. And women usually build us up to an impossible standard, which no one can live up to, and it can go south long term. Everyone wants to be a lone wolf. But they don't know how to handle one when they meet one.

I’d always wondered who I was and why I was different and not bothered about being different.
I only recently came across the term ‘ Sigma’ and it really helped me, but not a the way of being able tell people I’m a Sigma, because that’s what Alphas require.
What’s interesting is that I was an Alpha but as I grew in spiritual understanding I transcended it as I became enlightened.
I highly recommend studying spiral dynamics and the work of spiritual masters such Eckhart Tolle, Abraham Hicks, Dr Joe Dispenza and Wayne dyer.

I am definitely a Sigma male but the success with women is iffy.. you aren't always successful, because as a sigma male, I have been chastised for my no-nonsense, truthful attitude. Women do find me mysterious, but most women want men they can control, and Sigmas don't go for that.
