when I was trying to calculate, I am not getting the answer right. may be I misunderstood the method of calculation.can you please calculate and tell me what will be the radius when the curve on plan radius is 6mtr, each step height is 15.5cm and the number of steps is 13nos

Well I know this is an old video, and has been criticised already, but nevertheless: - the bit that is missing is that the rise, or pitch, of the stair also creates a twist in the handrail curve (or radius). Otherwise it would just be a bigger circle, and the handrail would end up where it started... Perpetuum stair:)

Step 6 appears to be backwards. I think it should be step 4 divided by step 5.

Wrong! You can't describe a handrail for a spiral staircase as having a simple radius. The handrail will have multiple curves. I've laid out handrails like this in 3D and machined them on the cnc. It's not that simple. Even if you laminate and bend pieces for this handrail, you bend them around the stairway. He entire grasp of this situation is flawed.
