38 yrs after becoming a nurse, watching a child being born is still the most amazing, miraculous thing I have ever seen, next to the transition from life to death. As a new mother, I was still a novice. For me it was not the same as teaching other moms. Imagine that precious cargo being nourished and incubated inside another human being. And, my only sweet baby boy, who is now 31yrs old, is one of the greatest gifts God has given me. Parenting is such an important responsibility. If only we all viewed the opportunities to create and nurture great people with reverence. It is not for everyone, and the decision to bear and raise a child should not be taken lightly.
