I've found filament sensors to be temperamental, and some of my printers have even just aborted a print, even though they were supposed to wait for a filament change, and starting from that point didn't work either.

So unlike some other commenters, I think this is a very useful tool for getting the last little bit of a spool used. Thanks for this!

dude your projects are amazing, how long have you been making 3d models, because I just made your 3d printable 3 digit pad lock and the tolerances and everything are impeccable. I hope to one day be as good as you are at 3d design and creativity.

a better way is to use a silicone tube. you cut a tiny piece off, stick both ends inside the silicone tube, heat it up and up some pressure on it. let it cool down and the cut open the silicone tube piece with a knife and then youll have a perfect filament weld
