I got a brand new $50 pink squire bullet and repainted it; then installed hot rails. Great project guitar for cheap!

I think I had that same Squier bullet strat as my first electric guitar. It was the same color. The only other strats that I can think of that come in navy blue are the Highway 1 strat and Cory Wong's signature Strat, which is based off the highway 1.

I actually had my friend paint my blue bullet orange and he painted a little rose on the pickguard. It looked cool, but someone stole it. At least I still have my first acoustic. But I really want another navy blue Squier bullet for nostalgia purposes.

I've owned a few expensive (to me) strats, American strats over the years....the best, and my baby, a 2020 Squier Affinity Strat. Omg this neck is like a baby's butt!!!!

I love cheap guitars too: I use a Squier Strat from about 1984/5 (bought in 1987) and a similarly aged Tokai "Love Rock" Les Paul copy (bought in about 1992). Both are "customised" to some degree (new tuners and pickups etc) and have been around the block with me. I love them and would never sell them... On the lookout for a nice Telecaster to complete my collection, I'll find something a few years old for about £100 that plays well and catches my ears and eyes!

Yeah, I bought a Squire off-set tele and slapped some vintage noiseless pickups in it, had it set-up. It’s a great playing & sounding guitar.

In my experience the price of the guitar means veery little on how much use you will get out of them. Its purely preference.

i got my first electric ($150 squierbullet strat) when i was 14 and the guitar being so cheap made me buckle down and learn proper form + guitar anatomy

My belief is that people pay premium for a guitar because they’re rather buy it fresh with little to no TLC or maintenance.

People who buy cheaper are either broke or they know how to make something cheap sound and play good.

I love my jet guitar (js-400). Basically a much better Squier for $199 new

People shit on squire, but the cost to reward ratio is brilliant when you take into account customising ability

Fit 3 SPST toggle switches to split each of the hot rails. They sound like proper single coils when split. I put them in my Charvel guitar and wondered why I hadn't done this to all my SSS guitars.

I unintentionally made a stink face when he said $40 🤣

I tried a lot of strats since i started my hunt after accidentally more than microdosing and spending an afternoon playing a strat into a deluxe reverb. I didnt like any of the squiers or MiM’s that i played. But i found a 96 rosewood, and a 2012 maple American standards. Those are my babies now. I wish i liked the squiers, but even after fixing them up, they still feel like plywood, cause they are

I'm usually an advocate for cheap stuff over expensive, but guitars are one of my few exceptions (car parts and pet food also come to mind). Every cheap-o guitar I've owned has just felt too chonky in the neck.

I can tell you my two favorite strata I own are my squire and my glarry. The glarry is bone stock and the only issue was the action was to high beside that it played just as good as the squire. I play the squire more than my fender strat. I've learned the brand doesn't really matter. I've seen people play great with first act guitars
