Is this about information security, or asset protection ( alarm response call center) security?

Wanted to check on SOC. Can there be an IT SOC and an OT SOC. Is it right to say so. Or is it just one SOC and have a SIEM separately for IT and OT.

In one of our groups we had this endless debate about SOC, each side backed with their own experience and opinions. What do you think is the right approach, any document/whitepaper you can share that you know of.

I believe that I have had this going on for quite some time maybe years. I’ve seen red flags indicating that there may be financial transactions and I’m unable to actually see what is the issue.

I think the apps need to be analyzed and regulated for safe cyber security and prevention for our next generation.

If my mama has done anything it’s ok or my son Michael Mciver it’s ok they only want what is best for me. I believe that they have good intentions. But I have been in the dark with all of this.

6:56 Can you hunt a unicorn that has the tail of a mouse? How can you hunt something you don’t know anything about? Machine learning and algorithms and all that nonsense 🙄 Any machine is ‘intelligent’ only if those who created it are intelligent (and that is a truly terrifying thought in itself).

Tell me something. If a SOC serves a number of companies, how many analysts have spent any length of time physically working mingled with those companies’ staff? Just plonk your clever computers and intelligent selves in the more or less grubby chairs in all rooms of a company, and you can tell the posture of the whole company by closely observing staff and physical environments (yes, it can boil down to how far is the printer/scanner/water coller from the workstation of an employee who can’t be bothered to lock their screen)?
