I applied back in the early 2000s and got the "thanks, but no thanks" rejection letter within 3 months of applying. Would have loved to have worked in Intelligence.

I have been going through the recruitment process for military intel and it is taking much longer than I had hoped. I also need to join the CAF to help pay for my last year of university, but the waiting has seemingly put my life on hold, makes you feel like you are going nowhere and threatens your morale. I am tempted to just take out another student loan, finish school, then apply directly to CSIS.

If you have served in the military, will it hinder or benefit your chances of being an IO?

Wouldn't it frowned upon/imprudent to be talking to people about your interests in working for a security agency (i.e reaching out to you)? Especially on social media platforms?
