Wyatt Russell really nailed this scene, I really feel for his character

i think he’s also a great representation of veterans who spent a lot of their time and energy fighting for a country that didn’t have their back when they came back, not to mention sacrificing their mental or physical states as well.

"I understand that" John Walker said, calmly.

Regardless of what you think of his character you have to admit that he played his role so well and whenever he’s in a shot he pulls your eyes.

John Walker is a realistic character, he is not a bad guy, but his attitude was something that 90% of people would do at that moment, he is the representation of how a veteran is treated, sacrificed and received no recognition

He literally is captain America…. He’s the representation of how veterans are actually treated in our country

Walker: DON’T YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I’VE SACRIFICED!?

Senator: You’re “out” john.

USAgent: OUT AM I?!

Wyatt is just amazing, I hope the writers give this character all the proper development of his great potential in thunderbolts

I really don’t understand all the people hating on his character. Most of the people who hate him are just little kids who just keep saying nOt mY cAp

What a great scene. So moving you could feel his pain and understand how and why he became this way.

John Walker is such a well written character. He is the dark side of Captain America and I can’t wait to see him in The Thunderbolts.

He didn’t deserve this. Sadly as an Army vet, this is how it really goes. You make one mistake and you’re marked forever. Thats why tell people the military is an honorable way to go but don’t make one mistake. If you do they will ruin you forever even if it’s their fault for putting you in crazy situations. Yes we sign up for it but we shouldn’t have our lives ruined by one mistake especially after all the dangerous stuff we have done.

Iron Man kills terrorists --> hailed as earth's strongest hero.

Captain America kills terrorists --> hailed as earth's greatest hero.

John Walker kills TERRORIST --> decried and fired as mentally unstable war criminal who never deserved the shield and who should've gone to jail.

This was unfortunately incredibly realistic in its portrayal of how the government thinks the solution to soldiers with PTSD and gripes with the system is to toss them aside and let them drown. Walker was a Medal of Honor recipient who was mentally traumatized by war and then they toss him aside. The show overall did a horrible job with the whole portraying PTSD-stricken veterans as psychopathic murderers, but this was a pretty well done scene.

Uncommon take: John Walker deserves a standalone series/movie.
