In this video, we're going to talk about cortisol and how to turn off cortisol and stress.

Cortisol is a stress hormone that is made on the outside of the adrenal gland. Cortisol reacts to stress and helps to adapt the body to stress states. All stress is accumulative in the body, and as people experience stress (even though it tends to reduce after some time), it begins to accumulate inside the body as the adrenal gland only has the "ON" switch. What you need to do is manually apply the "OFF" switch to reduce cortisol levels.

To help lower cortisol levels, you can use different acupressure or massage techniques to turn this switch "OFF."

To anybody reading this,
Fight for your life and your happiness. I am a person who lives in a constant state of anxiety and panic. I've been prescribed every drug you could name and nothing has worked. Do not take the pills psychiatrists try to jam down your throat after knowing you for just 30 minutes. Find ways to make yourself happy. Get out there in the world and face your fears. Find ways to counter your stress. We only live one time. Learn, love and laugh. Say no to your stress and take control of your body again. You are so capable and you are amazing. There is a reason you are on this planet so make the most of it and realize your potential. You are beautiful and you can do anything you set your mind to.

Yoga, meditation, tai chi, deep abdominal breathing, simplifying your life, relaxing music, turn off your tech, write in a journal, take relaxing walks by yourself, let go of toxic relationships, do not answer every email, text, voicemail, call each time. Breathe, just breathe. Get rid of junk in your home.

I have a simple technique: I breathe in normally and smoothly, but I breathe out slowly (more than 5 seconds through the mouth) and that activates the sympathetic system, it actually lowers my blood pressure and I'm sure it DE-stresses me. The secret is to breathe smoothly, both in and out, but make sure it takes much longer to breathe out, it feels great and lowers your BP really fast. Thumbs up if you like this!

Depression is living in the past.
Anxiety is living in the future.
Peace is living now.

My attitude, sleep and life would be quite different if I learnt more about this at school in my teens.

Society is stressful. We're not meant to be on a treadmill chasing ££££s, $$$$s, €€€€€s, farming out our precious children during our most productive hours and years.

People only ever seem to mention "flight or flight". I have a 'freeze' mode.

The answer is having a relationship with the Lord. He and only He can bring peace, joy (in the midst of trials). When you accept Him as your Lord and Savior and ask for forgiveness of the mistakes you made, He promises to abide in you - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The fruits of that experience is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
That pretty much covers it. We all need the Lord. He is good and merciful and loves you.

Dr. Berg, I am a Firefighter. On 24 hours at the station. I am Type II. I have been on low carb for 4 months. I have dropped my blood sugar to normal readings. I have noticed that when I take my BS in the morning getting off shift from the Fire Dept, my readings are 10-20 points higher than on my days off. A friend suggested that the cortisol is causing my BS to be higher due to the constant "READY STATE" we must be in waiting for EMS and FIRE calls. Just wanted to run this by you. Thank You for everything you do. You have been very helpful to my health!

To add to this, you can control how your breath. The Institute of Heartmath explains how to do this but the key is when you first become agitated or stressed, immediately slow down your breathing and instead of short quick breaths, take long slow breaths and you will shut off the Cortisol, adrenalin as well as your heart. I used this process minimize panic attacks.

16 years of constant inner anxiety and anxiety attacks just over a month into keto. Stress reduced by 50%....why do Dr's never look at diet? Instead of just throwing medication at you?

This is exactly what's been happening to me for over 6 years now. I'm a stressed out stroke survivor and can't recover because I'm in a constant state of fight or flight. I often watch your videos because you talk a lot about stress.

This is so true, when my Mom suddenly died of aneurysm, I was 21 yrs old, I felt my life suddenly stopped. I was depressed for two years. After that, I felt I just had to accept my Mom is really gone I started to pick up living life but I had serious health issues, asthma attacks, serious skin asthma attacks, then my Doctor said if I don't control my body and live healthy it could lead to Lupus. I stopped eating industrially grown chicken, farmed shrimps and fish. Thankfully enough I got my asthma controlled. I am still in my journey towards a healthier 50.
