Actually, it was quite intelligent to leave the zip-tie in place while getting the lay of the land. If it had been Hicksville and they'd planned to railroad him, breaking the zip-tie, putting a few of the cops down for a nap and beating a hasty retreat might well have been his play. No need for them to know he could snap them at will.

Zip cuffs are used only as temporary restraints. They fail more often than not because the plastic/nylon locking mechanism becomes brittle with age. But in Reachers case it was just sheer brute strength!

I see mistake by the prop department.
Typically what happens as the locking tooth breaks. Not the strap.
But I like the optics, I could’ve got out anytime I want but I didn’t because I’m showing respect for you.
I believe that also was in one of the Superman movies.
