Mike Duncan is like a no holds barred historian. He is able to present a lot of information, and to scrutinize to an incredible degree, while making comparisons.

I just starting listening to his best podcast, and as a scholar of history, I have to say that every time I hear him say "hello, and welcome to the history of Rome" I feel like I'm mentally coming over a rise and seeing a huge and ancient city coming into view, full of secrets and knowledge. He is an amazing narrator and speaker.

Mike is the bomb. HOR was so amazing. I only wish there was more details, it's very cliff notes style, but can be expected to pack all those years into under 200 podcasts. Excellent!

I found history of rome about a year ago on you tube, hooked straight away. If I was at home I was listening to it non stop. As soon as I got home from work it was on until I went sleep listening to it.
Just finished it for a second time and already considering doing it all again.
I have a huge passion for history, especially early civilisations, and the level of detail, mixed with great storytelling and humour was, in my opinion, outstanding.
I'm so glad it has won you awards, and when I've finished it for the 3rd time, I'll get on to revolutions.
Well done and good luck for the future.

This guy is a true master, he has given true value to our culture with the work he has produced. Gone to sleep listening to it many times, roadtrips, whenever I got the opportunity!

Sad that the revolutions podcast will end, but excited to see what will come next.

I’m almost 70 episodes into the Russian Revolution, and I have to say I’ve never been so enamored with history. I’m definitely planning on going back to previous revolutions. Duncan is very analytical in his account of history without editorializing, and of course he’s very entertaining.

What a gift to this world Mike Duncan is. I have listened to him talk about Rome for hundreds, if not thousands of hours and I wish more would do the same and see the brilliant and harrowing similarities between the past and present.

When it often comes to history and modern problems, it is incorrect to say that history repeats itself, History is merely poetry, things may look the same they might feel the same but they can never be the same.

30 hours of work is very impressive for the quality of each revolutions episode has.

Closing on in listening to all his Rome and Revoluitons podcasts. Been a great pleasure. Favorites were South America and Mexico: inherently interesting and I'd known so little about either. France for me was a slog. My friend, who turned me on to Duncan a year ago, said he's really enjoying Byzantium

My copy of The Storm Before The Storm just arrived today. Can't wait for the next book and resumption of the podcast, best of luck to you, Mike!
