As a man, who tried this, I can tell you, men can do it. I'll explain how it works. It's about leverage and spine to pelvis, lock in. Men have longer torsos than women. So the spine locks more at an angle, from the pelvis. Second, by default, women have more developed leg mucles. Scientists think it's related to birthing children. The legs are crucial for the leverage. So, a man, by default, having a longer torso, creating a stronger spine to pelvis lock... And less developed leg mucles, by default... Will struggle like hell to make it happen. Solution? Develop more muscle in the back and legs. Us body builders have no issue with this challenge.

Worked for me. And the 1 where we get on our elbows, no problem either.

I don’t understand the problem. I did this the first try.😂

My brother in law, who's a physical therapist, randomly invited me to do this challenge. He wasn't able to do it, but my sister was. They walked me through it and I did it. They were perplexed 😂

I can do it rather eas at that distance, but I tried a bit further back and its impossible. At a certain angle your calves hold your torso and thats the point where not even very good hip / back muscles can save you

It’s all about the distance you are from the wall, women generally have smaller feet so are closer to the wall, I tried this with my wife and as we both moved back to the same distance we both couldn’t lift it. It is because at the angle you are and slightly forward towards the wall you cannot lift any weight due to the fact there are no muscles you can use at that angle to stand up, when you try the only muscle that starts to tense is your calves

My science experiment.
First I had a man and a woman each take three steps back from the wall, put their head against the wall, lift the chair, and stand up.
She could. He could not. But why?
I got out a tape measure and measured the distance from the wall to their heels.
His was 36”.
Hers was 24”.
I had her try at 36”.
She couldn’t even REACH the wall with her head.
I had him try at 24”.
He could do it easily at 24”.
I had each of them try at various distances (from heel to wall) to find the “tipping” point. It was 31” for both of them.
At 31”, they both succeeded. At 32”, they both failed.
Try it yourselves.

Lower center of gravity, shoe size, other stuff.. Also women cannot change tyres.

And if you disagree, you are right - but very easily provoked.

Wow if only this would benefit our civilization.

Doesn't have anything to do with special muscles or strength. It's about the ratio of foot length to torso length.

If your head is not in contact with the wall, but slightly away from it which you can do by gently nudging your head away from the wall you can lift the chair. So this means when the head is in contact, and the spine is at that angle almost 90 the communication of the brain signals does not take place.

This was part of an All In The Family episode. Archie thought it was a trick edith, gloria and mike were playing on him. The 3 of them had a good laugh with it.

Put simply it's about where your center of gravity is. I'm an adult man and have been able to do this since I was a child. I had and still do have strong leg muscles which makes for your back end to be heavier thus moving the center of gravity backwards making it easier to do.

It's to do with foot size. I can do it if I stand where a woman would stand measuring back with size 6 feet. Size 9s just put you back over the tipping point.

I can do it easily.... I did it fist try only .... I don't understand what's the problem

Men CAN do this. Put your toes the same distance away from the wall as the prior woman. Men have bigger feet which the two steps puts them farther away from the wall altering leverage and center of gravity. Has everything to do with the size of feet.

All about the center of mass.

Men's upper body tends to be heavier than women's. Therefore, the center of mass is higher on men.

When you incline in that manner, at a certain point your body's center of mass stops lining up with your feet. At that moment, gravity torques your body forward and makes it impossible to pull your torso up from that position without first helping yourself with the wall.

I was able to do it, without shoes. With shoes, after 2 steps my feet were so far from the wall that I couldn't touch my head to the wall without leaning forward. And at that point it was plenty obvious I'd be unable to leverage my torso back even without the chair.

I can do this. The trick for men is to first pull straight back (not up) leading with your hips, to get more of your weight under you and to the rear. Then you can stand up lifting the chair.

Due to Thicker Bottom Parts, Only Woman can Balance Centre for Gravity & Men have their centre of Gravity towards chest, That is the reason
