While these ideas are all very well in terms of evaluating whether there are defects in code this does not address whether the quality of the software is good. Is it easy to use? Is it flexible enough to handle the business needs? How easy is it to modify the code to adapt to changing business needs? Is it easy to maintain? Metrics around numbers of defects may be easy to track but they don't tell you much of anything about the experience of the user, which at the end of the day is the ultimate decider for what quality is.
