Grandma’s 100 Year Old Gingerbread Recipe.

Just in time for Christmas, Grandma’s gingerbread recipe. This is from a hand written cookbook from my family. Made with molasses, a forever food.

Grandma’s Gingerbread.

2 cups molasses
1 cup hot water
6 tablespoons butter
5 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon ground ginger

Bake at 350
For 20 minutes or until a knife stuck in comes out clean.

My grandma was German and boy could that woman cook. Her bread and dinner rolls would melt in your mouth. She never used any measuring cups or spoons.

Never got much ginger bread, but I love it !!!
My sisters' friend bakes cookies for Christmas, and she always brings me some about this time of the year . She makes killer molasses cookies ! Got me salivating like a old dog thinking about it . Y'all have a great Christmas and pray you get your trouble behind you . 👍
