I have many, many friends on the moon. Alot of people know this. We took a vote and many many people voted for this.

They can acknowledge space and science but can’t say there is a issue with climate change and that scientists are right about that?! Maybe that’s more important than exploring the effing MOON!

Pence is one of several clowns in this circus of an administration.

And this is what I hate about this administration. You can't take credit for a program that started back in 2014 and act like you signed it into existence this year.

If we go back to the moon, very soon immigrants will try to bring their "children" with them and claim asylum there. I kid you not....

Why don't you use the money to clean the environment or help the poor, or a million other things that are more important. What a waste!!!

Going to the Moon is relatively easy not just because it is relatively close to us but it orbits us directly and is thus always the same distance away from us. Since Mars orbits the Sun and not us there is only a temporary window, what astronomers call "opposition", where Mars is close to the Earth, and there is not enough time in that window to launch and retrieve astronauts. So each Mars mission has to span two separate "oppositions", which are many months apart. Therefore MUCH more equipment and logistics are needed, not just to overcome the greater distance but the much greater time duration of the mission. We should be able to do this but it will take a lot more effort and expense than just going to the Moon.

Major breakthroughs in renewable energy technologies are being reported at the rate of two a week at this juncture in the summer of 2019. Per Neven's Law, quantum computing technology is currently snowballing at a double-exponential rate, which is much more than Moore's Law. Elon Musk, like Mike Pence, says the timetable for humans to Mars is four years. Even if the actual mission is accomplished five to seven years after their audacious timetable; this is an unprecedented victory not just for the USA, but also for mankind. Good luck Mr. Vice President, I for one stand with you regarding this endeavor.

With Trump's impatience I predict many tragic deaths as a result.

You make it sound like he’s the one going to the moon. Trust me, he’s already there.

Have developed a dislike for CBS over the past 3+ years but it's great to see CBS talking to the Vice President even though the reporter seems to have a "better, smarter, rude attitude" which is not true in any manner. This is the Vice President and show him respect. Show President Trump respect. We will be back on track sooner than later as long as congress works with the space exploration program.
