Great objective review. I'm looking to migrate towards the RF01 Pro. I'm old now (58) and the RF97A is getting "too heavy" at times. I have no problem with heavy player's sticks as I grew up playing with wood. But as age is increasing, I need to "decrease" the racket weight a bit. As you can see in my avatar, that's the PK Redondo 93 - a "modded" 340+ gram stick. So the RF01 Pro shouldn't be a problem. Thanks again for the great review!

First of all awesome hitting quality, something I'm missing from many "tennis gear gurus" and youtubers today. As a long time tennis player myself I have observed, and you probably will not agree with me, that actually you hit better with the RF 01 Pro. You are more free, more relaxed, your shots have more consistent quality and you look like you have been hitting with the racket your whole life. Fast forward to the RF97 and you maybe hit stronger shots, heavier, but it seems to me like you're fighting with the racket more and you are depleting your energy a lot faster. Looks like you are proving to yourself that you can hit with the RF97 (which you can) but somehow it feels unnatural to me. I can bet that it would be more significant to see during a match than just training hitting middle of the court. Because the RF 01 Pro is a great point and shoot racket on the move.

You mentioned RF97 being superb on serve. Yes, it is. But can you serve with the racket 3hours consistently, long, close match? That also applies on groundstrokes as well. Volleys, becoming more and more important, are crucial in todays game. RF 01 Pro performs a lot better in that scenario, which is a big plus for the racket. So I think it's better to have a racket that scores 8/10 points in every scenario, rather than a racket that scores 9/10 or 10/10 on serve but lacks the manooovrlbity and easier playability overall and scores 6-7/10 in some other areas. I don't know if it is just a placebo or some fan love for the RF97, but I can see it around with many users of the RF97, who can play a great match for 1, 5 h, but in the 3rd set they are exhausted and eventually lose the match only because of the racket being so heavy. I'm not trying to convince you should switch to the RF 01 Pro, but from what I saw it was pretty significant to me that you played a more balanced and overall more complete shots with the RF 01 Pro.

What do you think about that? Keep up the great work and good luck on tour. 💪

I have two RF97 97 v13 racquets (no way I'm selling any of them). The RF97 is a masterclass in racquet manufacturing. I've demo'd seemingly every racquet out there, including the RF01 PRO, and nothing even comes close to the RF97's precision. It is a scalpel! The level of control is unsurpassed from any other stick.

Nice, have tried both frames but I’ll stick with the PS85 thx. Nothing comes close for precision. Power I don’t need.

Great review, comparison and hit! May I give an advice on the RF97 to be even better on volleys and spin? Try replacing the leather grip for the Yonex Excel Pro Grip (AC128EX), it is thin at 1, 6mm but lighter, will make the RF97 a little faster. If you like it please make a video! Regards, Rodrigo.

RF97 it's sick!! It is the champagne colour of the string ? Have you try difference colours between lynx tour ? If yes, have you noticed any difference in playbility/feel etc ?

Only pro players like you can tell the true differences between player frames 👍🏼

Nice to see the indoor test. I would also favour the RF97 indoors.
If you get a chance, maybe try the RF01 on Clay. I think you'll probably find it would be well suited to you. As clay court tennis is a bit of a running game, it would help you a lot in long matches. I am certainly considering switching to the RF01 when we start our clay season next year; as much as i love my pro staff on clay, it is way more tough to use, especially against strong players.

This would come out when I’ve been hitting with this all week and thinking of switching from my blade pros due to the extra weight, I loved it 😂

I liked the ballflight on rf01 more, a little higher and longer with more dip to the end. Awesome hitting with both anyways. For todays fast game i'd choose the lighter one of the two, just for manouverabilty and less fatigue in longer games. Which is rf01. More consistency will come wirh practise when you really get to know the frame. My guess.

You play so effortless with the RF97A, your muscle memory seems so in sync with it. Just go on playing with it! The downside: THat might be one of the racquets that will be much more expensive on the second hand market... Usually, you can get older racquets super cheap, but this one, you gotta be lucky, but there are some out there.

I have been playing with the RF97 since it came out. And I tested a lot of rackets since then . Recently I have been loving the Gravity Pro. Have you playtested that one?

RF 01 is just a scam to sell racquets.

Federer did not participate in the development of that racquet. Wilson headquarters is located in Chicago. Roger just travels to New York. Wilson did not provide any evidence that Federer actually participated in the racquet design.

My advice: play with a racquet that adapts to your game style. Pros use old frames that they used when they were junior players.

Djokovic plays with an old Head Radical; Murray played with a Head Pro Tour.

Don’t give your money to crazy racquet brands.

Good review.
But Maybe next time when you say those specs make sure u weigh them properly on a weighing scale rather than just reading it from what is says on the racquet. What is says on the racquet is not really accurate. Quality control is not on point with wilson. 🤦🏻‍♂️

From watching the video, it seems as if you hit harder / cleaner with the RF PRO!
