Prostaff 97 RF was the number one sold racquet and no one i see plays proper tennis with it!

It's a product of too many people buying it for the RF and found it too demanding to use. Can't speak for the RF-01, but the RF-01 Pro as a 320g racquet is not heavy and it's actually very forgiving when you have the right technique.

Watch the videos with Roger in it, he'd explain that he wanted more power and easier spin - The thing to remember is that this is a RF racquet, not your typical club player who just likes to hit with a western grip, whack the ball with heavy top spin and have it land in the court. Another video of him doing a blacked-out play test, he also mentioned that one of the racquets he hit with works because you can dial up the power or dial it down. It's not supposed to 'just give' free power, it's supposed to give it according to user needs

The reported 'smaller sweetspot' is the result of a denser pattern around the middle of the racquet, which gives you control, so if one finds the sweetspot too small, then it's just the wrong racquet period.

This is not going to be the most popular racquet, nor should it. Like another comment mentioned, most of the people playing with a ProStaff can't play properly. I always recommend a Clash or Pure Drive for beginner/improver.

I settled on the RF 01 after demoing it, the Clash 100 v2, Head Gravity tour, Babolat pure drive. Other people’s reviews seemed to be irrelevant. Racquet choice is a very individual thing. Demo several…..even some you think are “inappropriate “ for you. You may be surprised.

These are people who never intended to keep the RF. They just wanted to play with it for a couple of weeks, knowing that they could sell it and get their money back easily, since it's a high profile release. Just an easy demo. It's called flipping or show-rooming. Lots of people do it with electronics, clothes, shoes etc.

Just like everything else. Most people only post negative comments when something is not to their liking. The total proportion of racquets sold to negative comments made we will never know. It's a completely individual perspective.A negative review of the pro from someone with no racquet head speed and poor footwork will be different from a high level player.

Co-developed by Roger does not mean it will be a good racquet that suits everyone. I am sure if this racquet was named Wilson Razor or something, it will only have about 40% of the sales compared to naming it RF.

My customer let me hit with his RF 01 pro for a few minutes and he doesn’t use a dampener and I forgot to put 1 on. My take on it is it’s not playable for me. Ima 3.5-4.0 player and currently use a Blade 98 V9.

What's wrong with these racquets is that's it's a pure money making exercise from Wilson and Roger Federer. Supposedly this is the racquet Fed would be using if he was still playing. What a fanciful idea. But people flocked to it without knowing what they were doing. It's probably a decent player's frame, but it won't do anything magical that a vanilla Pro Staff can't do.

I tested only the 300g RF 01 and is not bad, needs customization, looks great ❤

The Racket is not for beginners, maybe a lot of people buy the Racket because RF colab. And at the end they can‘t play with the stick, same thing happen in 2014 with the RF Autograph.

What I can resume, after hitting 2 hours with the pro. 1. Needs customization, 2. Feels dampend, 3. Needs more time to dial in, 4. It is not a pro staff rf v.14, 5. More power than the ps rf, 6. Sweetspot is ok.
I strung it with a hybrid set up, 18 g. 1, 2 mm.

The RF 01 300 g version is also for an advanced player like the pro version . The 300g one is a platform racquet its supposed to be customised to your specs. It needs at least 6g added to the hoop and counterbalanced to improve stability and the sweet spot.

I think it could also be a function of just so many people buying this racquet at once - could be a normal response, meaning there's always going to be a certain % that have buyers remorse, and in this case it's just amplified by how many are buying it.

That said, I tried both (demo, thankfully) the Pro and 01, and the Pro is very unforgiving and heavy, and the 01 was good but not great. Both were very unstable on off center shots.

it’s the best racket I have played with. Mine last was Wilson Blade V8 and V9. Those are also good but RF01 is better but more demanding. Výborná raketa💪💪

I sent the RF Future back… too light. Will order the RF 01…. Will let you know…I’m an old flat hitter with a ohb and lots of slice. Ciao, John. Looking forward to your analysis

Fed & Wilson made the best 1990s Pro Kennex homage frame with this one. LOL. Plays like the PK Type. *I'm a tournament stringer with over 35yrs of experience who's strung test frames from companies for ATP & WTA players.

Simply the people who bought the racquet have been humbled, they are simply not good enough to use it.

The racket has no WOW effect.

I tried it and in the first 1-2 hours I was not impressed, decided to give it more time, now I definitely switched to the RF 01 (I also own a Pro, which is super fun, but too heavy for my taste). I come from a Percept 97 and previously a Vcore 95, so this frame had no WOW! effect like the super spin of the Vcore or the precision of the Percept, but I slowly realised I was playing better in all the other aspects compared to my previous Yonexes. It has less spin potential than the Vcore and no pin-point ability like the Percept, but I ended up being way better with it at volleys while approaching the net, it's more stable on the backhand, service speed increased, etc... also I play a OHBH and the RF 01 with some extra weight in the handle + 3 and 9 o'clock lead tape, it became an amazing racket for my play style. I like to be an offensive player, I hate sitting behind the baseline and be a pendulum, so this racket was a great fit after some hours. I think the main reasons people are selling them is easy: it won't fit the majority of the current players' style and most people are not willing to customise rackets, they just want it to work out of the box.

Nothing wrong with them at all. Great racquets.

Wilson just did a lazy job by combining Shift, Blade, Pro Staff together. There is no "real' practical tests (ATP tournament) on those new models. Simply said: "No proven" of a performance racquet. They just use Roger's name to sell it.
