House of Leaves is haunting and claustrophobic, I loved it! I dreaded picking it up but I wanted to continue reading so badly.

WAIT YOU'RE READING JOE ABERCROMBIE!?? With Blake Crouch, House of Leaves, and Abercrombie (The Heroes is my favorite standalone, The Wisdom of Crowds changed my worldview it was that good) it's like you're doing a tour of my favorites of last year!
I discovered your channel literally today after watching your The Stand video and I'm shocked that I haven't found you earlier because you make exactly the type of stuff I enjoy :)

Congrats on 2 k subs!
I’m excited to read You Like It Darker by Stephen King. Some books on my TBR for 2024 are Mindhunter, Hannibal (Thomas Harris), Evil (Jan Guillou), Everville (Clive Barker, yes I’m reading even more from him xD), The Kindness (John Ajvide Lindqvist) and The Dead Zone, also by Stephen King.

Blake Crouch has become one of my very favourite authors! So many good books! The Wayward Pines trilogy is amazing

Hannibal series - Thomas Harris
And afew Jack Reacher/John Grisham novels sprinkled in there ☺️☺️
Just finished the Judges List by John Grisham yesterday and he is absolutely brilliant

Read Monstilio by Gerardo Samano Cordova, amazing book. Based on some of the books you’ve read, I think you’ll love it.

Blake’s Wayward Pines series is really fun. I tried Brandon Sandersons Warbreaker and really had a tough time getting through it. Only picked that one because it’s one of his few standalone novels, or was at the time.

Great list. A lot of things that I haven’t tried so really looking forward to your recommendations. Especially Blood Meridian. I’ve read McCarthy’s border trilogy and The Road so I’ll be really interested to hear about Blood Meridian.

I reckon you’ll like Stormlight more than Mistborn. It’s doesn’t have the medieval England feel that a lot of fantasy has, it’s a far more imaginative and alien world, but with very strong character development.

In 2024, I’ll be dipping into a lot of things, but my big project for the year is to reread all of Terry Pratchett’s discworld novels. They’re pretty easy to digest quickly, but there is 41 one of them. Maybe I’ll take a leaf out of your Dark Tower and document the journey on YouTube 😁

Not much horror in that pile but always been curious about Foe since I loved I'm Thinking of Ending Things by him.

Would love to hear your review of house of leaves if you get the chance once you've read it. One of my favourites.

Hey just a pointer for future videos. Mark Z. Danielewski's surname is pronounced Daniel-EV-ski. It's Polish (Poland is actually referenced multiple times in the novel and his father migrated from there) and I am as well so just letting you know.

Excited for an hour long video from you about House of Leaves! It has so many layers I'm excited what you'll think about it.

I think one of the strengths of Stormlight Archive was the characters, as well as amazing bettle scenes. Would love for you to upload a review once you've finished it

I love Cormac MC so much. All of his work. The Road is top 3 for me. But Blood Meridian was a bit of a slog. I feel like I might have to go back and reread it as maybe it was me being too dense and not the book. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with it. 😌Starting Joe Abercrombie for the first time next week! The Winter King trilogy is outstanding for intro to historical fiction also. Would really recommend it. Great content as always 😊

I see you have the Silo trilogy in the background. I am currently 2 books away from finishing The Dark Tower but I was thinking of moving on to that series after. What are your thoughts on the Silo trilogy?
