Even as a Man United fan, the 2006 final between West Ham & the Scousers is a game I'm so happy I got to see on TV as it was happening. From Paul Konchesky lobbing Reina from miles out to Gerrard's absolute thunderc*nt in the 90th min, also from miles out, never mind everything else that comes with a final going to penalties! As a Chelsea fan the first half of this video was really enjoyable to watch but the 2nd half was painful.
4 out of our last 5 finals lost including 3 in a row 😭
Plus a lot of bad refereeing
2017 - Sanchez handball for the first goal
2020 - red card on Kovacic for being fouled (VAR didn't intervene cos it was 2nd yellow)
2021 - handball by Ayoze just before the Tielemans belter (plus some shoddy lines to rule out Chilwell's dramatic late equaliser)

2006 was the year big clubs stopped caring. Liverpool won champions league in 2005 and the big clubs said in 2006 that the champions leqgue is by far a bigger competition and started resting players in the fa cup and playing their second goalkeeper
