Welcome back to Stick to Football with Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Roy Keane and Jill Scott – the original show from the award-winning The Overlap, brought to you by Sky Bet.

With Ian away in St Lucia and Jill back in the studio, the panel kick off the show with the reaction to the first round of the Champions League knock-out stages, where holders Manchester City beat FC Copenhagen whilst Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich lose to Lazio.

Gary, Jamie, Roy and Jill discuss whether any team can anyone stop Pep’s City, whether the Champions League has gone stale or not and how next season’s rule change could be beneficial to Europe’s elite competition.

As Manchester United have approached Newcastle United’s director of football Dan Ashworth, the team talk about what changes he could bring to Old Trafford if he decides to move and how important the off-the-field staff have on a modern football club.

Lastly we end on our Super 6 segment, has Gary pulled further ahead of Roy and who will they predict in the latest round of fixtures?

We’re approaching one million subscribers, so please don’t forget to hit subscribe to never miss an episode!

One of the great thing about GN as a host is that he knows when to shut up and listen to others. The bloke doesnt mind not saying anything for a couple of mins, same during his overlap interviews. Great skill that not too many pundits/journos possess these days.

Only criticism for this show is that 1 hour genuinely isn't long enough for an episode. We NEED longer ones!

The prequel before the show officially starts, feels like an after gaff at 5am.

I agree with Jamie about the away goal taking some joy from these fixtures. Imagine how massive lazio's 1-0 vs bayern Munich would be if away goals still counted. It would mean that lazio could go to Allianz only needing to score 1. Without the away goal rule it feels like bayern will inevitably roll lazio over as they won't fear lazio getting an away goal. It would add so much more tension to the first legs of the round of 16. Something that's been somewhat stripped away by taking the away goal rule off

Nev: ‘Some of the names I’ve been called over the years, I don’t really feel sorry for them’

Keano: ‘Yeah, but they were true’ 😂💀

What I love about Neville is he has no problem being the butt of the jokes calling him a liability as a player but in reality there’s only one or two right backs you could argue are better than him in Premier League History

I agree with Cara. I miss the away goals. Was one if the few people I know that didn’t want it to go

Roy Keane, the guy just gets better and better. All football fans are starting to see the depth of his personality and razor sharp wit through this show, something us Irish fans were aware of for years. Glad, everyone gets to enjoy him now.

Dang Wrighty really adds a lot to this podcast. Has great chemistry with everyone and tells a great story. Hopefully he's back for the next one.

There’s something extremely satisfying about Keane’s laugh

The away goal in the Champions League was such a good rule - defined the whole feel of the tournament. Getting rid of away goals; VAR; blue cards... do the people in charge know how to make football better?

The best bits of the entire show are the pre “recorded” bits
