🔹//DESCRIPTION\\

This video shows the process of building sliding barn doors to replace an existing door in a home. Jay gets wood from Jaime’s and prepares the boards by flattening, jointing, and planing them. He then cuts the boards to size and assembles them into two door panels using pocket hole screws. Hardware is installed including hinges and a track system. The doors are stained and finish coated before being installed. Viewers learn skills for wood preparation and door construction. Challenges like mismatched board sizes and installing hardware are discussed. The finished doors receive approval from the Steph who was surprised by the project.

From the guy who fell through his ceiling to the guy who makes his own custom bi-fold you have come a long way. Well done.

Lifting that board when you shot those 18 ga. ghost nails looked like a magic trick. Milwaukee 4 Life! 😆😆

Great job Jay! Jaime’s a super boss and friend. You had the right instinct to keep that beautiful maple natural, good on Nanna for knowing as well. Steph’s reaction to your surprise - priceless!

Your craftmanship (and confidence) is improving with every project! Jamie is an awesome employer and friend for letting you use his woodworking tools like that.

The wood prep was great. This is how I should have gone after. You leave the panel a little wider a little longer. GLUE The panel, straightline on jointer or with a plunge saw. Then cut it to length. You may need a piece of metal 3/16 x 1 1/4 so your panel doesn't cup, that face on one side may not be enough to keep it straight. You cut a notch on the face piece to hide the metal. Glue the face on, use 2 nails to keep it from moving and clamp the pieces.

It is nice to see a person who has enough self-criticism and who is not ashamed to admit that he can be wrong. Your videos are truly inspiring.

I don't know how Jaime uses that jointer without getting a pit in the stomach. I get phantom pains just watching him use it. Good job on the door by the way! You could add a little material to the sides to make it wider and would frame it up.

Hahaha! Jaime telling Jason to be quiet so he can get some work done! He learned that from his big brother, lol

Just wanted to say, my family and I love your videos. Very entertaining. We had pointed something out on Perkins Brothers last video, about the Mega house that they haven’t noticed. At 22.14 minutes in Jaime looks like “Little Debbie”. All he needs is some curls. LOL. Check it out. Too funny. Been watching you all for a long time.
