Acting Administrator Nolen summed it up very well at 1:08:55. This is a profession where you need to bring your “A” game EVERY time, every day, Every year. It’s difficult to do that if you’re hiring “B” gamers to appease certain political objectives.

The fact that the industry, along with everyone affiliated with aviation, has noticed a disturbing uptick in incidents....and therefore one moment away from the next .. The FAA, NTSB and industry are taking steps to PREVENT the next accident.

I think the fact that this forum was done in front of the public has prevented a more down to earth, straighforward conversation as to the specific issues affecting these dangerous mishaps. I hear a lot of political speak.
