For the intake pipe, the reason it works is, because the intake is under the " global water level" of the map. As long as the pipe intake is under that line, it can pull water into your system.

A good way to see where the global water level is, to go into third person and have the camera go below the terrain. It's been a while since I played, but since moving the third person camera doesn't affect your characters directional facing, you can have the pipe equipped, look under the terrain, and see where you need to place it to reach the water.

I have a "do not attack" agreement by making a peace offering box. I put all my "abundant" crops in an unlocked storage box so people around me can take them.
Works 95% of the time.

One tip I have to easily gather tons of poop is to force feed a creature like a phiomia with stimberries. It will make them constantly poop for every 10 or so berries you feed it and you can give the loads of poop to dung beetles, fill compost bins or even just use directly on the plots. I usually keep one near my greenhouses for easy access to poop at all times.

Large plots hold more water and can usually grow using only rain, without irrigation pipes. This is especially useful on rafts and platforms where pipes aren't allowed to be placed.

You can also use a snow owl pellets as fertiliser as well. So if you have access to them and are already using the pellets for gachas. You can spare some for your crops.

Also worth mentioning Berries and veggies can go in a fridges
But the x y z's don't,

we store are (flashbangs) The plant z crop in a preserving bin next to the plant so we can grab and go for pvp.

Really cool video, very clear information.
Was easy to follow and listen to, direct and straightforward.
As an improvement you can actually have the water taps right on the ground and you should be able to build over the pipes or even put the pipes in the forms of a structure, the water taps can irrigate within a radius, not needing to be over top.
Also, if too far from water, you can make a box with no top and as long as it rains.
I like using stone for my setups and I put a brewery underneath a rooftop garden, all them extra berries go to too useful, but nice to have on the side.
