I think what I love the most about GANs is that the generator and discriminator are similar to prey and predators in nature, and how through evolutionary pressures, the prey can enter into an evolutionary arms race, developing adaptations to fool the predator. It's actually kinda scary how well the generator can start to produce hyperrealistic human portraits that can fool the discriminator, hell it can even fool us, which brings up the Turing test.

GANs were cool and probably cheap to produce an image, but they are limited to produce image of certain kind or an object. And also there is no customisation. Skip to today, we have models that can generate anything, just from text and with unlimited customisations! Sometimes I realse, how far we've come to this!!❤
