FILM DESCRIPTION:
Roman J. Israel is an idealistic defense attorney whose life gets upended when his boss and mentor -- the legendary civil rights icon William Henry Jackson -- dies unexpectedly. He's then recruited to join a law firm led by George Pierce, an ambitious lawyer who was one of Jackson's former students. Israel's legacy of activism soon gets put to the test when he takes on the case of Langston Bailey, a young man accused of murdering a convenience store clerk.

This scene shows a lot of what’s wrong with these…..cowardly and lost people. The moment they notice that they are losing and argument, straight to name calling and attacks. Instead of that, listen. Not to counter but to understand. If people did that more then the world wouldn’t as divided as it’s become.

I love how, on the bridge, Roman's face is in shadow. It's like he's lost his identity. He's living in a new world and it feels like his passion and integrity don't register with it. How he sees himself has been taken from him.

Had a date like this once...opened the car door for her and she said..."Do I look like I need help opening my door or something." I said I thought I was being a gentlemen? We got to the place I didn't get a chance to open the car door this time she got out even before I did..we get ready to go inside and I opened the restaurant door and she says.."Here you go with the damn door again..what is that?" So I said you know what..you go ahead and enjoy yourself and she looked puzzled and said.."What do you mean?" I told her I'm not gonna step outside my character and entertain this bullshit..you wanna be "that girl"....strong, independent..I don't need a man to do nothing for me then go right ahead I can respect that....but what the fu$% am I here for? I gave a $100 to the hostess and said could you make sure she eats something and gets home safe..she laughed and said I can do that and I left her there with her strength...she called before I got out of the parking lot..needless to say we haven't spoke since!
