This is what that Karen expects the zookeeper does when gorillas are fighting

And that's why we don't fight gorillas.

In the book it says Tarzan was as strong as a 30 year old man by the time he was 10. He grew up with them and so he has been through stuff like this a lot. He knew them and that ape probably had some respect and love for him. See how he patted him right before he walked away. It didn’t want to kill him just remind him where he came from

In reality, a fight with a gorilla of that magnitude would be played out as him dying from the impact of the first charge strike.

This is by far the best scene in the movie.

2:57 I love how after he whoops Tarzan's ass he taps him on the back like
"Now come get your boy"

“The gorilla should be beating him easily!” Did we watch the same fight? My man got two hits in then broke his weapon and got layed out, yeah he should’ve taken more visual damage but he still lost pretty damn decisively

Tarzan wouldn’t have stood a chance. If he wanted to the gorilla Collis have snapped him in half. Still a good scene though.

For all of the people complaining about Tarzan surviving a fight against a mangani (not a gorilla, as they were distinguished between in the movie), please understand that Tarzan is essentially a comic book level peak human. In the comics, he dropkicks dinosaurs and takes T-rexes down with ropes. He snapped a mangani’s neck with a full nelson in the comics as well. This version may be weaker than the comic version, but it’s safe to note that Edgar Rice Burroughs wasn’t aiming for realism with this character, and neither was this film.

I could imagine people who haven’t read the comics and think that Tarzan is some normal bloke lose their minds after reading about Tarzan fighting giants and Predators from the popular film series of the same name. No gatekeeping intended, but please understand that Tarzan ain’t normal.

Tarzan wasn’t trying to win. He was proving that he wasn’t afraid to fight him.

The little nudge Akut gives to Tarzan before leaving him alone states as such: Akut(tapping Tarzan): Welcome back bitch. Missed yo ass.

I think what some ppl miss from this is Akut could have killed Tarzan at anytime but like most times when brothers fight they don't go for the kill it was just a way for Akut to say "Bro you abandoned the family, now you think you can just come home... not before I beat that @** first!" That's why he tapped him afterwards as if to say "we good little brother"

"There's no way he could've survived fighting a Silverback." Who here has younger siblings? Have you fought before when you were younger, but didn't murder them? That's because you held your strength back and wasn't trying to actually hurt them, but to let them know that you are much stronger than them and that you could easily hurt them. That's what the gorilla did to Tarzan

I love how Akut taps him at the end. "You're good bro. Yeah, you're alright. Now GTFO" LOL

The fight wasnt about who was going to win as it was obvious to everyone that Akut would win. It was about Tarzan showing his former tribe that, despite his time with civilization, he's still a jungle ape at heart.

2:58 is the same tap he gave him when they were young 😂

I like how even in Hollywood, they still wouldn’t allow him to win a fight against a gorilla since that’s exactly what would happen in this fight
