‼Nothing But Thieves ‼-- Please come to New Zealand/Australia where you can perform to a crowd that appreciates you, and with the respect you deserve as a phenomenally talented band!

Now it's story time! :)

My husband and I planned a Europe trip which begun with Lollapalooza Berlin and I was so excited to see Nothing But Thieves on the set list. Literally one of my favourite bands. Unfortunately, upon entering the second inner gate an hour early for their performance on the Sunday, an extremely aggressive security officer SLAMMED the gate shut right after me (separating me from my husband directly behind me, we had matching colored hair for goodness sake) and refused to let anyone else through. We initially assumed that once some people exited they'd let people in (this is how other festivals work :) ) but, no, we were instead told the gate would remain shut for SIX HOURS, aka, once Seventeen had finished their performance later that night!

I realized there was no chance of them letting my husband in so I left (not that it meant anyone else could enter anyway) and among the others locked out was a girl who had used the right-hand stage bathroom - something she'd been told she could do and then return to the inner gate without issue - and therefore hadn't brought her wallet, fan (it was 33+ degrees), water, or her phone, so she had no way of contacting her friends inside to even access her belongings and leave! Another was a girl who was separated from her mum and couldn't contact her either. And security had absolutely no interest in helping anyone - something I was under the impression they were paid to do...!

Was nobody expected to leave for six hours straight without foregoing their spot forever? With no access to bathrooms or drinks despite the insane heat-wave, and no further opportunity for others to enter either?? There was still plenty of room for people within the gate and at least 30 people left just in the 15 minutes I stood there, trying to fathom how absolutely unbelievable the situation was. Abysmal security management like I've never before seen at a festival - music or otherwise.

So thank you Lollapalooza Berlin for an experience that violated multiple health and safety regulations while we all baked in the sun; it really made my 30+ hours of plane flights worth it. ❤ I may have ugly-cried for the entirety of NBT's first song, but at least the Seventeen fans got to see my favourite band in high res while they pissed in the grass xx

Warum hat jedes Festival in D ein besseres Lineup, ich checks nicht. Wir sind die Hauptstadt und riesige Sponsoren sind an Board. Wo versickert die Kohle? Oder woran liegts?
Ich weiß: Mimimi, aber ist halt auch leider echt so.
