Unbelievable how this 93-year-old gentleman fought for the country at the age of 17. This is a true example of selfless service!

To fight in a war at age 17 is truly heartbreaking. Much respect to him.

Man this guy knows how to talk. He came in with a ticket, came out saying your welcome.

My dad had a similar story, joined the Navy at 17 in 1943 and served in the Pacific theater. This really hits home for me because the way he tells it at 93 is so similar to how my dad told it in his 90's... the details fade with age but the overall picture is still there. These were great men, the greatest generation indeed. I remember when the towers fell on Sep. 11 how my dad (76 at the time) drove down to Mayport Naval Station and asked if he could re-enlist. My father passed away away in 2020 wondering how this generation had lost that sense of duty and love of country. For him it was a given.

Now that's the way you treat a veteran. Wonderful to see him get the respect he deserves.

Loved him. I had a neighbor we lost at Thanksgiving this year. Mr. George Ellers was 102 years old. He served in the coast guard and was the last of his company to pass. The stories he told me in the 20 years I have had the privilege of living next to were not only history but life lessons. His mind was there until the last 6 months of his life. I will miss him always.

This man is a true hero. He was in every battle of the Pacific from 1943 to 1945 and returned home. That must have been horrible being in the middle of the ocean and being attacked. The nightmares this man must have had. God bless his soul.
