Dang! It cost me $3, 000 to travel to England, wales, Scotland, and Ireland for a total of 2 weeks. Disney really is bringing in bank!

Took a 5 day cruise to Cabo with the wife for $1, 400, food included. Disney has gone insane.

To put this into context, I live in Ireland, I could take my family of 4 to Italy for a week, including flights and hotel with Breakfast for a similar amount of money.

Thank you for this honest expense report. Too many times people share their experiences as if it was nothing to spend. As a family of 5, I prefer to see a real experience breakdown so THANK YOU!!!

And this is why Americans are in such bad debt. Not saying you don’t have the money for it. But a lot of people put these expenses on credit cards and aren’t able to pay it back. Crazy

The Costco package is the way to go! Tickets + hotel + $150 gift card to spend on merch/food. Can’t beat it.

That’s actually not to bad, my Wife and I will be doing a similar trip in May with our 8 year old. Going from Glendale, AZ to visit Universal Studios Hollywood. Got the 2 day Pass for the Park, staying for 5 days, doing some Museums and sightseeing as well. After Car Rental, Hotel Stay, Park Tickets, Gas, Food Spots and Miscellaneous expenses we are looking at coming in close to $2, 500 or so.

Items that took the biggest chunk were the Hotel Stay & Car Rental.

Check out the Anaheim hotel next time. Nice place for 150 - 200 a night. Basically near the front entrance of the parks

I go to Disney at least once a week. My partner and I get by with about 30 bucks per visit. We do share, also we like to challenge ourselves and try and ride all the rides. I love Disneyland!

Me and my family just went there last weekend and it was fun but expensive. We did pick Hyatt House at Anaheim which served free breakfast to cut cost of food. It was also walking Distance to Disneyland. If your kids are still under 3 I say it’s worth it since they are free.

My parents took me to Disney world when I was 4. Don’t have one single memory of it. A few pics prove I was there through. 😂I know they were trying to give me a fun experience but in my 30’s now I want to go back to fully experience it and remember it. Lol Heck, now that I’m writing this maybe they were going for themselves in their 20’s to experience somthing they told me their parents couldn’t afford. I’m convinced Disney is just for parents and the kids are just extra guest that have to come. America has made this the “it” vacation and if you go everyone knows you have money to blow or enough credit to charge it!

Congrats on your savings. I took my family of 6 + 1 and the hotel alone was already $1200 for 3 nights. We were so bummed because we bought our children's 2 day passes 3 months in advance and paid full price. Turned out the same days we went, Disneyland had the same $50.00 per child deal you mentioned. It could've saved us an extra ~$1050...

It was our first trip to Disneyland and I do admit, considering how packed the park was and paying for Genie+ for everyone, we definitely overpaid and it is overpriced. The exception is, the food and drinks inside the park was reasonable comparing it to the prices of my local food truck vendors (in California), which was surprising. But nonetheless, the experience was awesome. Everyone had a great time, the weather was perfect and the children loved it.

I see a lot of negative comments in the comment section but to each their own. Some people like camping, some people don't. Some people like pineapple pizza, some people don't. At the end of the day, it's your money, your family and it's you getting to do what you want for and with your family. I'm happy to hear at least someone else was able to share a Disneyland experience and was able to save money doing it. :)

That's really expensive for something they're not gonna remember. I'd rather save that money and do that when they're a little older.
