As you may know, human beings are biologically wired to be social in nature. We’re all born with an innate need to connect with others and find a sense of belonging. But, for those of us who have experienced trauma, it may be difficult to put ourselves out there and be vulnerable. But we’re here to tell you - You Do Belong. And, in this video, we’ll guide you through the process of finding that sense of belonging.

Finding a sense of belonging starts by getting to know yourself. And it just so happens that your relationship with YOU is the most important relationship in your life. If you want to learn more, watch this video:

This video is a part of an ongoing series called All Connected: A Place for Belonging. Season 2 was made possible by a GEER grant from the state of Mississippi. Connect Our Kids designed this series in partnership with trauma therapists, child welfare and prison reform advocates with lived experience, and Octopie, a cutting-edge animation studio.

Just to let you guys know i love these videos. You manage to condense all the things you need to learn and to take on into managable and short videos. And that is amazing. So suprsied you dont have millions of views but i hope you keep the videos coming regardless.

That hit me hard, I really have to search for my people, others won't understand me, I'm tired of explaining myself or pretending to be someone else.

1. Find ppl who share your interests (you don't need to change yourself to fit in)
2. Put yourself out there (to the ppl that you'd like to spend time with)
3. Meet yourself where you're at (take manageable steps towards connecting with others and have self compassion)
