Working with Salesforce STF Files: Export, Translate & Import Them Back To Salesforce

If you are working in a multilingual Salesforce organization, you know that entering translations for each individual field or custom label or picklist value can be quite time consuming and tedious… When we use the Translation Files, we can export, translate, and import back into Salesforce, making all the translation changes at once.

Thanks so much for the video. Have you encountered any issues using { } symbols in translations? I have one translation that needs these characters, my upload is successful and all of the translations except this one get uploaded. I couldn't find anything online specifically about this.

Hi, I want to modify existing as well as add new translations. Which columns do I need to have in my final STF file? Only Key and Label, or Key, Label, Translation and Out of Date. Thank you!

Very clear explanation! Im glad I found this video. Custom labels import worked for me. However I am unable to upload translations for global value set due to error "The key's translation type must match the file's translation type". What's weird is that picklist value translation export seems to have picklist value label used instead of picklist value api name in said key. So its like with spaces included". Extremely infuriating

How are you able to get Excel to save it in the STF file format? When I open the STF in Excel and then try to save it forces me to save as another format.

I made all as indicated in your video and it still gives errors and does not function. It is a helpful video to understand different formats, but it is still not clear how the final file should look like. It could be much more helpful if you could show us how the final file completely looks and how you copy, paste from Excel to Notepad and how you finally save it in STF format and then how you correctly import it without your duplicate errors. Otherwise, for begginers your class is not easy to complete without endless errors. You do know that 1 Images 1 Videos is much useful and easy to understand than thousands words.
