A mobile spine that is well controlled in its movement is essential for moving well with your horse. The movement of our spine, coupled with the pelvis, allows our seat to follow the motion of the horse's back. As we move to the upper back, our spine connects our seat to our upper body and therefore our hands and contact. This is where that controlled movement really gets important; too mobile in your spine and not only will you move uncomfortably for the horse, but your hands will be unstable too.
