The more I listen to John Wilson's arrangements, the more I'm impressed. This is truly the best way to treasure Gershwin's music: by keeping it alive through arrangements with modern instruments.

John Wilson is a Genius, and each one of these musicians a virtuoso in his own right.. Hand chosen .. This is wonderful stuff. ❤️

Spine tingling recreation of RKO's brilliant arrangement, of Gershwin's Shall We Dance!

How is it that the Brits appreciate our beautiful American musical heritage stronger than we do?  Every orchestra in America should be playing these arrangements.  Thank God they do.   We don't appreciate our own heritage.

The BIG orchestra makes this so deserved treatment of music by the  Gershwins.

John Wilson, Steven Mercurio and Vince Mendoza -- we're living at a pretty good time.

As it doesn't mention them above, the singers are Matt Ford & Clare Teal, both are top award winning Jazz Singers.

It's a treat to hear this, the syncopated segments are precise yet rubato. The paradox with this kind of music is that the players have to play tight and together in order to sound loose and achieve the real swing of it - just as a dancer does. JW and his team make this foot tapping and lively so it works a charm. A keeper.

Thank you so much for uploading this fantastic performance! This evokes such wonderful memories of "Shall We Dance" and the final dance with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Having seen Opening Night of "An American in Paris" at the Dominion and a number of BBC Proms, it's wonderful beyond words such talent still exists in today's world. Many thanks again for these fabulous jewels.

Nice to see someone did a live version of this.! Kudos for leaving in the "big ending." There's a few Gershwin nuts out there who wish this score (THE WHOLE THING) would get released on CD.

This music came out of my country almost a century ago. What happened to that America?

When Matt and Clare return at the end of this video, they actually sing several lines from another song from this 1937 movie - "They all Laughed".  Easy to miss.
