He was an associate producer on x-men. That ain't no small time p.a. crew member who gets coffee.

At least Marvel Studios finally gave us Comic Accurate X-Men Costumes after Fox refused for the entire Fox X-Men universe's lifetime.

i wanna know why they put the costumes at the end of apocalypse and immediately ditched them in the next movie

I hope we get more accurate costumes for the X-Men in the MCU going forward.

Feige wasn’t a go get my coffee guy, he was a executive producer on those films

I mean they wore their ultimate uniforms like a whole trilogy

What do you mean “we finally know?”

I specifically remember the X2 DVD commentary stating the reasons why - that brightly coloured spandex looks great on the page, but can easily look ridiculous onscreen.

We were told why twenty-one years ago.

Edit: Also, Feige wasn’t a “coffee boy” - he was an executive producer or so.

I really would have loved to see Illyana Rasputin(Magik) make a return in Deadpool and Wolverine.

It wasn't just the matrix it was blade

Also movies are embarrassed of putting superheroes in their suits grounded and gritty ruins the potential of adapting source material

It was the early 2000s black leather was thing then

actually the black leather only worked for storm and luckily they gave her the cape

well all know why. its because of the matrix and because it was a comic book movie that did well. just like blade. black leather and trench coats. not hard to figure out and no one should have needed any confirmation on this. its been known

At least in X-Men First Class they wear costumes closer to the comics & at the end of apocalypse.

I prefer the comic accurate William Stryker where he was a minister whilst also a sergeant. His perception on his religious views from the comics is something FOX should’ve touched upon to make it more accurate.

i will say this mindset did work when they were doing daredevil. say what you will about that movie but the matrix leather aesthetic really works there

When I first saw the first X Men movie I was very confused after I watched the Animated series. Kevin Feige were so diplomatic and political correct as he almost didn’t want to offend anyone.

It's like how even James Bond copied Jason Bourne's fighting style.

Also, Hollywood is fairly risk averse. They're very loathe to do anything risky to begin with. AND when they think they have the new cool thing they will copy it to death until people are tired of it. Look at sitcoms (at least until recent years). Every few years, we'd get the new "in" one: a certain setting, number/age/make-up of characters and their lot in life. It quickly became a hit, and over the next two seasons EVERY network would copy it. It's more diffuse now with streaming, but that was the repeated dynamic for decades.

Because the matrix movie started before xmen and people thought black was popular. The problem with everyone wearing the same color is that fight scenes are confusing.

Bryan Singer filmed a harsh action movie with elements of body horror and a certain politicization, multi-colored costumes did not fit in well.
Well, viewers who are not fans of comics might not understand it, and not all things from comics and cartoons look good live without explanations.
