A Kentucky man admitted to using a doctor’s information who lived states away to access the Hawaii death registry system and create a fake death certificate to avoid paying more than $100k in outstanding child support to his ex-wife.
But Jesse Kipf didn't stop there. He also used other stolen credentials to hack into other states' death registry systems, government networks, private businesses, and more. He tried to sell access to the networks to people online. It is believed that Kipf's actions cost nearly $195k in damages.
