Today I toured the devastating aftermath of the Malibu fire along the iconic PCH coast line. It’s absolutely devastating to see the destruction. I also have incredible drone footage from the Pacific Palisades. It was an experience. I will never forget for the rest of my life.

Message from Jens, the drone pilot:
I would like to address some of the comments and concerns about the legality of the drone footage. The drone footage shown in this video was taken after the TFR (Temporary Flight Restriction, by FAA) was lifted on January 27th. I would like to mention that despite of some others I respected the TFR at all times. On January 18th, about 11 days after the Palisades  Fires started, my request was approved by the FAA to fly within the TFR in three defined zones, but only with restrictions and under supervision of CalFire. But this drone footage is not in this video. Also I would like to mention that this drone footage is supposed to be a “documentation” of a historical event, respectively disaster. I hope this clarification helps. If you have questions feel free to reach out to me via social media (Instagram: @jeser).

Thanks for filming this. This is exactly the type of thing the mainstream media would NOT show in depth. We rely on independent news, and amazing content creators for the in depth coverage we need.

My friend works for the Getty museum. She told me on the day the fire began, one of the security guards who has worked there for 30 years (I assume he was a manager) was asked by the others when he was going to leave. He said he would not leave until the next shift got there through the fire and road closures. They chose to stay with him and fight to protect the property. Later he commented, “Leadership is not a position. It is an action, ” sending a message that management was gutless in the emergency, and the security guards, who were not treated with respect, are the ones who handled the situation.

I remember as a child being able to go to the beaches before all the homes took over. We used to park along PCH for free. Mom would make a picnic lunch and we swam all day long until sunset.Over 60 years ago...Love seeing the VW bus; learned to drive with one of these!

Now that we can see the beaches that the homes obstructed, you can see what paradise looks like

This is heart wrenching. It's beyond disturbing watching the politicians licking their lips while talking about land acquisitions.

You do a better job capturing the feeling of what is happening than any other media source. That is true for all of your videos! You provide real and non biased content!

I’m a former Southern California native. I’m almost 60 and I’ve been through major earthquakes and terrible fires. This is absolutely heartbreaking 💔 I’m so glad you are so kind and called out the people who’ve been posting hateful things about the fire victims. Nobody deserved this. Nobody deserves to lose everything they own. Their home, baby pictures, heirlooms. 😢 There are things no one can replace. And most folks can’t afford to rebuild

Your video really brought the devastation home to me. Unlike MSM who are limited to a minute or two. This video should be kept for historical reasons. You have done a great job. Apart from personal and sentimental things being destroyed I expect some historical items were destroyed also.

Gosh what a miracle that plastic recycle bins and plastic trash cans survived right next to melted cars and incinerated homes.

Man, another great loss for the people of California. 45 seconds into the video and it's already a great one that delivers the true devastation. As usual, thank you to the GIV! We appreciate you Mike!!

This is horrific. I’m so glad it’s warm there. It is freezing in Western Carolina and so many people are homeless. 90% of those people in California can rebuild, 90% of the people in Western Carolina mountains cannot afford to rebuild.

"No words Your video coverage says it all. So heartbreaking. Lived in Palisades for 11 years as a child. Malibu was part of the heart of this L.A. area. I pray for these people.
