I had a chin line surgery a bit over a month ago. Some things I'd tell to people planning on getting it would be:
- You really can't chew or barely open your mouth for a while, so be prepared for liquid diet.
- Cold food is really good at the start to help with the swelling, so things like popsicles and icecream and smoothies are really good. Also soup, as long as it's not too hot (hot food can hurt you).
- Be prepared to take some time off. I took a week myself and was able to work after that, but my work is remote.
- Good idea to stock up on food before the surgery so you don't have to go to the store for a while. You'll be in quite a bit of pain and your face is swollen so you most likely don't want to go outside anyways.

Thank you for sharing your story - my niece is about a year into transition and I'm just trying to come up to speed on what she might be in for so we can be supportive. This is very helpful.

Hi Chloe,

Thank you for providing this video. I have yet to get FFS surgery but have a second consult with a different doctor scheduled in October. I'm still on the fence about getting it done.

One thing I will say is it would be nice to not get clocked by kids and I think FFS would make the greatest difference there. Voice training maybe second, at least for me. Anyway, I'd like to share one cute situation that happened to me just an hour ago. While exiting a restaurant I was holding the door open and said "Hi' to a 5 year old boy and his mom. As he walked past me he said "Mom, She looks like a girl but she's a lady." My take is he saw (and maybe heard?) a difference but couldn't accurately described what he saw, or perhaps his parents had already taught him when he sees a transwoman he refers to them as a lady. Either way, I wasn't offended and found it kind of sweet.

Hugs! Christie

These educational style videos are great thank you for making them as well as your other content too, it’s been helpful watching your videos in-terms with what I’ve been considering for my own transition and goals. I’ve been considering having a brow reduction, hairline advancement as well as a jawline contour and tracheal shave for all the ffs procedures that I want done but also haven’t quite solidified this because I haven’t started hormones yet and I’ve been told to wait a little while before getting any ffs when I do start hormones.

I just had ffs two weeks ago. I did not have any pain and really did not need pain medication. My swelling went down in about a week. I guess the reason for recovering well was that I was moving around like a sloth and stayed away from light and sound as much as I could for about a week! Healthy diet pre (almost 2 months) and post op (indefinite) will definitely help for recovery after ffs, it worked for me 😃

I'm thinking about getting Rhinoplasty, Hairline advancement, Blephrolasty, Forehead contouring, lip lift, and maybe jaw contouring.

I am TERRIFIED!
Somehow more afraid than I was before my colon re-sectioning. (do not google that)

Sometimes it makes me sick to watch vids about FFS; your video was refreshing!

Thank you Chloe!

Omg thank you so much 😢I was starting to get depressed about how my face looked I was starting to hate/regret it, I thought it was the final look do to most of the swelling going down it’s only been about a week and a half and I’m scared I’m not gonna like how I look but seeing this gave me more confidence ❤

I started out with fairly androgynous features but I'm considering rhinoplasty, an eyebrow job (my brows are too straight for my liking, plucking be damned), and maybe a tracheal shave. Thankfully, I didn't start with a crazy huge Adam's apple. Hasn't gotten me misgendered, though. As I am now, after a year of HRT, I have people reading me as a woman.

I just had my bottom half of the face done, and you were not kidding. That swelling is so bad, the numbing is so weird. My face shape is now like Mr. Potato Head. The hardest part of all this is definitely patience.

I had a major facial reconstructive surgery when I was a teenager... Not super excited for another one of those recoveries... The left side of my face is still tingly!

Hey Chloe! Thanks for posting this video! I didn't know about hairline advancement! I have such a billboard of a forehead that I have to that swept bangs thing of mine. That was mean of the doctor to say he "Went to Town" on your jaw line. But I must say does look good. WOW, but I didn't know that is how he avoided scaring. So, did he peel the lower lip out and down to grind down the chin and jaw line bone? The two-stage approach is a good thing to know as well. I think I would want to start with the lower part first before my hair line. This was great info to know. While I am going to wait and see what the HRT does to my face over time, I'm interest in the jaw line and chin reduction, mouth size reduction (if possible) I don't like how wide my mouth is, to reduce the plumpness between my malar (zygomatic) and nose, like smooth it out or something and finally an eye lift for my hooded eyes, they always make you look sad, even when I'm not. Anyways, thanks for posting this video. Love you! 💖
