The History of Portal

Today on Valve News Network, we go over the entire history of Portal, and talk about many things that were left in Beta or cut entirely. Most of what is seen in this video has never been seen before by the public, and I am very happy to be able to share it with you today.

I would like to thank everyone that has helped me make this video, as it took quite a long time to make, and had many ups and downs during creation.

Will Valve ever make another game?
They could just find and hire a talented bunch of indie devs like they did with Portal and then throw their infinite supplies of money at them so they can make the best game they possibly can.

Portal is my special interest (I'm autistic) and the fact that you ACTUALLY had info I was not previously aware of shows that you really had a strong dedication to your research. Based on that alone, I'd trust that every one of your videos has this much care put into it. The audio contrast was spectacular and I appreciated the screenshots as visual aid. I'm attending the college that it came from, a little extra fun fact: "The cake is a lie" is a reference to the fact that NMS would get people to playtest with the promise of cake, only to tell them that it was a lie when they finished
