Greg Furstenwerth was an early adopter of the Tesla Model S, but once the car was out of warranty he had a hard time getting the parts and service he needed. So he took on the repairs himself, and found it surprisingly easy. "If you can put together Legos you can put together a Tesla.”

"If you can put together Legos, you can put together a Tesla."

I just can’t believe how much has broken on only a five year old car.

It’s sad that a man repairing his own car is mainstream news nowadays.

He seems like a nice guy, only frustrated about the service and parts.

Don't buy first Gen products. Or even a 2nd or 3rd. Too much stuff that needs to be ironed out.

Well, this proves Tesla is not the Apple of cars.
If it was build like an iPhone, changing the door handle would brick it.

Jesus, when he started listing the problems with the car it really makes you wonder if it's made of defective legos.

No parts, schematics, through the roof prices, only at their centers .... sounds like Apple

So this is the only car you'd ever want to have? And, they really took care of you under warranty? And your car has nearly 200, 000 miles on it and still going great? And it's the easiest car you've ever had to personally work on? It sounds more like an ad than a complaint.

The more electronics in your car, the more pain owning them post warranty.
