Hey guys, welcome back to NextGenBlogger and in this video, I want to show you how you can smooth edges in Blender. Now it's actually super easy to smooth edges in Blender. So without further delay, let's get started and see how you can do this.
Now to demonstrate this, I've already created a 'Torus' object. And if you look carefully, the edges of this particular object are cut razor sharp. So now if you want to smoothen the edges of this object, what you need to do first is you need to first select the object. Next you need to right click on it. And now you need to select this option that is 'Shade Smooth'. Now the moment you select 'Shade Smooth', you will see that to a large extent, the edges of the object have smoothened.
But if you look at the object from sideways, you will see that the outline of the object is yet not smooth. So to smoothen the outline of the object as well, what you need to do is you need to select the 'Modifiers' option which is present inside the properties window. And now you need to click on this 'Add Modifier' button. Next inside 'Generate', you need to select this option that is 'Subdivision Surface'. Now the moment you click on 'Subdivision Surface', you will see this 'Subdivision Surface' properties window open up right here. And now all you need to do is you need to increase the value inside the 'Levels Viewport' option. So currently the value inside the 'Levels Viewport' option is 1. So simply increase it to somewhere around 2 and that's it.
This is how you can smoothen the edges of an object in Blender. Do let me know your thoughts in the comment section below. Like the video and subscribe to my YouTube channel. I will again see you in the next video. Till then thanks for watching.
