And the lesson is this: don’t buy Chrysler products. 🤑

Carrier Bearing. Most times it CAN be replaced by itself. You MUST "index" the drive shaft ends. If they don't go back EXACTLY in the same clock position? You'll "create" a vibration. 😫😬

It's called carrier bearing and I think those shafts can be separated

Dude I just ran across this video and just to save you guys some money I thought I’d chime in. The carrier bearing on bigger car and long wheel base trucks r 100% replaceable. U remove with a bearing puller and u gotta have it pressed back on. Good Luck !!!

Did you just switch from Japanese to southern English my guy??😅

Commenting as a factory worker at a place that makes drive shafts for Ford, GM, BMW, Volkswagen, and Mercedes/Daimler, the piece that you mentioned wearing out is a sort of Center Bearing which can't easily be replaced on the actual shaft due to how it is installed (hydraulic pressed on with a protection cap, some parts have a yoke welded onto the end of it and then that is usually joined to another yoke with a star joint and four needle bearings)

See the boot underneath that bracket. Remove clip and pull it back. Shaft will disconnect to remove bracket.

1 piece of driveshafts can vibrate, too. Out of balance or bad/defective U-Joints. Some driveshafts are defective right from the factory and just get worse as time goes on.

What you have there is the drive shaft out of an awd charger, and that bushing is called a center support bearing/carrier bearing, it can be changed out for a new one its just decently hard to do and takes time plus special tools. I have an 08 cadillac cts awd mine went out and i changed it myself just putting it on ramps in a gravel driveway, so you dont need a whole shop to do it, and its definitely a lot cheaper than an entire driveshaft 😂

There’s a boot there? Separate the shafts and replace the bushing. Call it a day.

On my 2006 Mazda BT50, the centre bearing is replaceable. It unbolts once you have the uni joint off.

Carrier bearing you can replace it. Upcharge to replace the whole axle. Carrier bearing is $45, machine shop will take it off for 15 and press new on one.

Mine vibrate on floor and gas pedal. I'm not sure if it is motor mounts, cross joints, or differential gears.

The carrier bearing is easily replaceable. Might as well replace the u joints as well.

That's rebuildable an easy way to find out is look up the part and make sure it could be ordered for purchase but sure that is rebuildable
