TIDAL MQA Stream VS. regular TIDAL Stream

LOL please tell me you are joking right...? asking youtubers to determine sound quality differences of 2 different highres lossless tracks with a compressed 720p/avc-mp4a youtube video recorded using a cellphone.! I dont know what is funnier, this video or the people below me claiming they can hear the differences with their phones. I love youtube.!

The second one you can hear all the instruments clear and it doesn’t hurt to the ear

16bit 44khz is all you need with a good quality recording and master. The added bandwidth doesn’t help if the mix and master is sub par. The really rare combo is finding a great mix with great mastering at studio quality. Then the higher bandwidth format does matter but thats in less than 1% of all music out there. So its really rare.

Mqa uses minimizing slow roll off filters, which remove pre ringing (which is a good thing) but it also shifts all the frequencies in a non linear way. As a result lower frequencies are played before higher frequencies, and this makes it sound like mqa has more bass. It also blurs the high frequency regions. (funny as mqa claims to deblur). There's no way to correct for this, as correcting for one frequency means all the other frequencies get messed up.
For an honest comparison, the pcm should be played with such a filter (a minimizing slow) and most people doing comparisons seem to forget this VERY important factor and play the pcm with a linear filter. I compared several MQAs and PCMs with such a filter and PCM wins without any question.
A lossy format can never be better than the lossless format it was created from.
2nd thought : for mqa you have to pay for software and/or hardware to get "better than cd quality". With pcm, you pay 0 extra and get the highest quality. MQA = money train.

I can actually hear the difference on my Note 9 speakers. The guitar intro sounds much more natural on the MQA.

I can only notice an ever so slight difference between the vocals (the MQA sounds better) on my Sennheiser’s via the iPad’s headphone jack, the rest sounds basically the same.

At first, I thought "What a joke! Are these guys who invested THOUSANDS of dollars in a hi-end gear, only to hear the steps of a micron running through the cable - do these guys suggest I should hear the difference from a lossy Youtube file recorded with a smartphone??
