I have worked in IT for over 3 decades.... 2 of them in recruiting... the most effective way i have found to see if someone is qualified as a programmer and not just someone who can write code.... is to ask them how they would handle a specific project i came up with... to see their problem solving in action.... everyone can hit the keys on their keyboard... "few" people can actually solve problems with their keyboard effectively

I once went into an interview and they rejected me because I didn't know how to do some obscure algorithm. I was like bitch I've made 50+ medium to large projects in C and Web Dev. You want me to make a website -- not a spaceship.

I don’t think leetcode should be used to learn how to code, but there are pretty decent problems on that can train your thought process on writing solutions
