You cannot stop paying rent regardless if you put in a request to be moved. I would have never accepted an upstairs apartment anyways because I would have already knew that it would not work for me.

They should seek legal council... Totally crazy to go through something like that...

I don't think they should've stopped paying the rent but like now should've gone to every news station with their story. If the apartment complex wasn't planning on making sure they got a ground floor unit why tell them that they would. They should've also made sure that they had proof that they was going to move them. Is accommodating the disabled that damned hard!!

@1:55 Unfortunately, that does not bode well for them. Tennessee is one of those states where non-payment of rent, regardless of your reason, will put you on the fast track to eviction. I hope everything works out for them.

What a "entitled" man! If he cannot walk up the stairs, then move somewhere else. Not paying rent = eviction, it is a very simple math. I am so surprised that FOX13 Memphis even covered this incident.

Ok now it’s ok to be held accountable when it comes to rent but they saw his disability and should have humanly offered accommodations for him Money not the person Watching him walk up those stairs was horrible! They didn’t give a hoot about him as a person with disabilities Pitiful behavior on the apartments behalf cold and callus
